The other two are the Central Malacca district and the Alor Gajah district. Jasin District is the southernmost of the three districts, and borders the State of Johor. Jasin is also the name of the main town in the district. It is the administrative centre of the district. ==Name== The district is named after an important leader Mat Yassin or more well known as Yassin. During the British administration of Malaya, he was close with the British residents who used to called him Jasin.
